MULTIVAC takes over the slicer division of VC999
Wolfertschwenden, November 24, 2017 - With effect from December 1, 2017, MULTIVAC Sepp Haggenmüller SE & Co. KG will take over the slicing activities of VC999. With this further strategically important step in the direction of "Better Processing", the packaging specialist is now able to offer complete packaging lines for sliced products such as cheese, cold cuts or ham from a single source.
The slicer division of VC999, a successful company in the packaging machinery industry for many years, is a comparatively young division founded five years ago. This manufactures modern slicer solutions for industrial use that are hygienic and modular. VC999 has decided to divest this business in the course of strategic considerations.
Following the acquisition, MULTIVAC will continue to operate VC999's slicer facility in Buchenau (Dautphetal) as a development center and prototype production site. The series production of the slicers will take place at the main site of MULTIVAC in Wolfertschwenden. For this purpose, extensive investments are currently being planned in a state-of-the-art production facility, which should include, among other things, a modern application technology. From now on, complete slicer lines for carrying out customer tests are also available at the Wolfertschwenden location.
