Marco Tschanz (48) will become the new CEO of the Bell Food Group on June 1, 2024 and will also take over management of the Bell Switzerland division. The designated new CEO has been with the Bell Food Group for 9 years. In 2014 he joined the company as CFO and took a seat on the group management. In 2019 he moved within the group management and took over the leadership of the Bell International division and, in 2022, the Eisberg division. Joos Sutter, Chairman of the Board of Directors, explains the choice as follows: “Marco Tschanz has a remarkable track record in the Bell Food Group, both at an operational and strategic level.” Under his leadership, thanks to the new strategic positioning of Bell International, the sustainable turnaround in this business area was achieved. During his term in office, the fresh convenience market entry in Austria was successfully initiated and the strategic positioning of the Eisberg units in Eastern Europe was advanced.

Recognized personality both internally and externally
With this election, the Board of Directors is relying on a person within the company who is recognized both internally and externally and is ensuring continuity in management. “At the same time,” says Joos Sutter, “we are laying the foundation for the company’s dynamic further development.” Marco Tschanz on his choice: “The Bell Food Group is a successful company with a strong business model. I am very pleased to be able to continue writing more than 13 years of history together with a strong team and over 000 committed and competent employees.»

Current CEO Lorenz Wyss will step down in June 2024 after 13 successful years. Joos Sutter: “Now is not the right moment to thank him for his committed and visionary commitment.” Under Wyss, the Bell Food Group became a leading food manufacturer in Europe. Sales grew from CHF 2.5 billion to over CHF 4.3 billion and the number of employees more than doubled. Lorenz Wyss on the election of successor Marco Tschanz: “The board of directors made a very good choice. Marco Tschanz has noticeably influenced the strategic direction of the management team in recent years and has all the skills to successfully develop the Bell Food Group further."

New management of the iceberg division
As of January 1, 2024, Mike Häfeli (47) will take over management of the iceberg division. Until now, the business area was managed by Marco Tschanz as a single person. Mike Häfeli has broad experience in the food industry, particularly in production processes, market development and sales. He worked in various management positions at the technology group Bühler, most recently as a member of the executive management of the Grains & Food division, responsible for the Grain Quality & Supply business area. Mike Häfeli will join the group management team from the beginning of 2024.
