"Quality from next door" partner country Netherlands record participant in Green Week

Neighboring Germany is the second largest agricultural exporter in the world - Agriculture Minister Verburg speaks at the opening ceremony

With the Netherlands as the partner country of the International Green Week Berlin (IGW) 2009, an agricultural country is presented that has a very special relationship with the world's largest consumer fair for food, agriculture and horticulture. It was a foresighted Dutchman who gave Green Week 1951 an international touch as the first foreign exhibitor. Just two years later, the Dutch were represented at the IGW with the first official joint country stand of all the nations that had previously participated. When Green Week opens its doors from January 16-25, the Netherlands will be selling its agricultural products to more than 57 consumers for the 400.000th time in a row. The motto of the presentation in Hall 18 of the Berlin Exhibition Center is "Quality from next door". The visitors are offered an informative and entertaining cross-section through the agricultural and horticultural sector of the western neighbor of the Federal Republic of Germany. Consumers can look forward to typical local products such as poffertjes, oysters from the Oosterschelde and Heineken beer, taste greenhouse vegetables in a "taste house" or watch the professional preparation of veal in a "cooking theater".
