Wiesbaden, July 21, 2017- Kalles new sausage casing, the Roasted Flavor casing, gives meat and sausages the taste and appearance of roasted goods. Roasted aromas and the typical roast appearance come about without the usual deep-frying. Instead, the Roasted Flavor casing transfers the taste and crust from the casing directly to the surface of the filling - in just one step. This significantly reduces the time required in production, increases product safety and avoids the negative consequences of deep-frying: Considerable amounts of energy are saved, the risk of fire from deep fryers is eliminated, as is cleaning of the equipment and the disposal of used fat. The health risks of frying fat and deep-frying at high temperatures are also avoided. The Roasted Flavor casing is available now and is suitable for all cooked meat products as well as for vegetarian applications. Around 15 percent of these goods are currently offered fried.

The Roasted Flavor Casing transfers flavors and crust during the cooking process after the meat, cheese or tofu contents have been poured into the casing. The product is then ready and remains in the case until the goods are cut open or unpacked. This increases product safety and manufacturers can guarantee consistent quality standards, even if they produce at different locations. In addition, there is no weight loss due to deep-frying, which is 10 to 13 percent of the original mass.
