Exotic meat substitute

When ripe, it will weigh up to 30 kg. Ripe sweet fruits are barely obtained here - and if so, then there are the Fruchtfleischstücke as a fruit preserve or dried fruit.

When it comes to the jackfruit, most consumers have a big question mark on their foreheads. And rightly so, because this exotic fruit is not so well known in this country. As the largest tree fruit in the world, the jackfruit grows in many tropical countries, especially in Southeast Asia. It is interesting: even the unripe fruits can be eaten. In this ripe state, the pulp has a very fibrous texture (similar to chicken meat) and is tasteless. These seem to be good conditions for a meat substitute product. The unripe jackfruit is offered here in brine canned in canned goods and as a convenience product with and without marinade or sauce. Both variants can be processed like meat. The jackfruit tastes good z. As sliced, goulash, meatball, pulled jackfruit, in curries, burgers, tacos and serves as a basic ingredient for spreads and dips.

Since the fruit or the products have very long transport distances behind it, one should prefer organic goods as well as manufacturers, who have written sustainable production concepts on the flag.
