Marketing through email has numerous pitfalls prepared often stumble over the straight SMBs: Who may promotional emails ever sent? How is it ensured the consent of the recipient, and how to be formulated the content? eco - Association of the German Internet Industry now has the updated version of the "Guidelines for acceptable e-mail marketing" published that takes into account in the new version, the legal situation in Austria and Switzerland.

 "Today there is hardly a company that can do without e-mail marketing in its customer communication, and smaller companies in particular can rarely fully understand the legal situation," says eco managing director Harald A. Summa. "The guideline helps quickly and clearly with specific and practical tips." The brochure provides information on the underlying legal text for each question, makes suggestions for implementing the legal requirements and provides practical examples.

The fourth edition of the popular brochure includes the further development of the jurisprudence on the design of consent in the email advertising and the amendment to the Federal Data Protection Act last year, which have resulted in significant changes.
