Start of the Tönnies agricultural blog

Rheda-Wiedenbrück, September 2018 – The food company Tönnies is launching its new range of information for farmers, producers, fatteners, but also livestock traders, agricultural organizations and suppliers. The Tönnies Agrarblog offers a market assessment of the development of the pig market in Germany and the world every week. The company also takes a position on current agricultural policy issues.

"We are in direct dialogue with our partners in agriculture every day, now we want to take the next step and give our assessment digitally to other interested parties," says Dr. Robert Elmerhaus, Head of Livestock Pig Purchasing at Tönnies. Under www.toennies-agrarblog.de Interested parties can be informed by e-mail, WhatsApp or fax. Every Friday, Elmerhaus writes first-hand about the company's market assessment. “It is important for us to pull together. For strong rural agriculture, we need mutual knowledge and understanding.

"The agricultural blog is our consistent path of open and transparent communication with our agricultural partners," says Dr. André Vielstädte, Head of Corporate Communications. "As part of the value chain, we want to inform our partners about how we think and what opinion we have on current agricultural issues." In the coming weeks, the site will be continuously expanded and supplemented. Videos and background information offer a look behind the scenes.
