MESUTRONIC regulates the company succession

IRCHBERG IM WALD - As part of a corporate succession, INDUS Holding AG acquires 89,9% of MESUTRONIC Gerätebau GmbH, Kirchberg im Wald. The company is active in the future industry of measurement and control technology and is one of the technology leaders in the field of metal and foreign body detection for industrial applications. The developer and manufacturer of inspection systems achieved an annual turnover of more than 2018 million euros in 24 and employs around 200 people at locations in Germany and France. The transaction is still subject to approval by the antitrust authorities.

Founded in 1992, MESUTRONIC today supplies a wide range of customers worldwide with innovative inspection solutions for almost all process steps. The systems from MESUTRONIC serve, on the one hand, to protect production systems from metal parts and other foreign bodies, for example in the plastics and textile industries. On the other hand, they are used to inspect products, for example in the food and pharmaceutical industries, for freedom from metal and other contaminants.

High-precision sensors detect unwanted foreign bodies. Particularly dynamic sorting devices remove contaminated products from production processes without having to interrupt them. Both discrete product flows such as packaged food and continuous material flows such as plastic granulate can be examined.

MESUTRONIC delivers to 50 countries around the world and has its own service staff and a spare parts service. The systems are produced exclusively at the company's headquarters in Kirchberg in the Bavarian Forest. A separate national company looks after sales and the service business in France.

"We have been supplying our customers with tailor-made system solutions with high-frequency metal detectors and X-ray-based foreign body detectors for installation in complex production systems," says Karl-Heinz Dürrmeier, managing partner of MESUTRONIC. “With INDUS we have found a parent company with which we can maintain our typical medium-sized virtues and yet continue to grow rapidly internationally. The corporate succession therefore has no effects on existing customer and supplier relationships or for our international sales partners, all existing training and employment relationships continue as usual. "

Most of the previous owners who have worked in the company will retain a stake in MESUTRONIC, will continue to run the company independently and support the integration into the INDUS Group.

Automation, measurement and control technology is one of the future industries defined in the newly formulated PARKOUR strategy from INDUS. "MESUTRONIC is a company exactly to our taste because it is active in one of the future industries we have defined," says Johannes Schmidt, Chairman of the Board of Management of INDUS. "I am confident that this acquisition is the start of a revived INDUS acquisition activity."

M&A advisor Dr. Stephan Gellrich, Munich, advised the shareholders of MESUTRONIC Gerätebau GmbH on the sale of the company. Together with the long-standing auditor of the company, Mr. Wolfgang Kraus from Rödl & Partner (Nuremberg), Dr. Gellrich was in charge of the transaction process. The lawyers Michael Wiehl and Jens Linhardt from Rödl & Partner (Nuremberg) advised the shareholders on the transaction.
