Clemens and Maximilian Tönnies give private insights into family history in a podcast

"New time. New ways. ”- this is what the Rheda-Wiedenbrücker food company Tönnies has not only set out to do in its new campaign. Because just in time for its 50th anniversary, the family business is also breaking new ground in terms of communication: The first two episodes of the new podcast “Tönnies meets Tönnies” will be released this Thursday. In it, Clemens and his son Maximilian Tönnies give exciting and exclusive insights into the everyday life of the family and the company.

In Europe, the name Tönnies stands for an international player in the food industry. Behind it are two generations and a determined entrepreneurial family. In the new audio format, Clemens and Max Tönnies report on their moving family and company history. “It all started with the small butcher shop in the back yard of my parents' house. We have invested a lot of work to turn the small business into one of the leading food companies in Europe - deeply rooted in Rheda-Wiedenbrück in East Westphalia, ”says managing partner Clemens Tönnies. For the first time, he dared to go to the Terrain Podcast together with his son Maximilian. "An exciting and great opportunity to just start talking," adds the 65-year-old.

In a total of eight episodes, father and son talk about tradition, change, success, failure, headwinds and responsibility. The audience learn why a sign written by Clemens Junior at the sales stand drove his father Clemens Senior to white heat, why Mother Maria's many tears laid the foundation for the company's current success and what close relationship Clemens Tönnies had with his brother Bernd. Maximilian Tönnies is also enthusiastic about the format: “The podcast gives me the opportunity to get to know papa and me from a completely different, completely new and for many outsiders unknown side. I didn't think that a podcast could be so authentic, funny but also emotional and sad at the same time. "

Father and son also philosophize about the development of the company's vegetarian division. “That was nothing for my father a few years ago. But I believed in it and convinced him. Together with our team, we have led the veggie sector to enormous and successful growth, even if the production of high-quality meat remains our core business, ”explains the 31-year-old.

The first two episodes will be available from 10 a.m. today on all known podcast platforms as well as on https://www.toennies.de/toennies-toennies-der-podcast/ to listen. The following episodes should appear every 14 days. In order to be informed about the new episodes, the podcast “Tönnies meets Tönnies” can be subscribed to on all common podcast platforms.
