Weber invests in a state-of-the-art production facility

Investments are part of everyday life at Weber Maschinenbau. The company has always invested in state-of-the-art production technology and, above all, in automation. A particularly impressive investment was presented and ceremoniously inaugurated at the Neubrandenburg site in August: a new sheet metal manufacturing facility. In the presence of guests from business and politics, Tobias Weber, CEO of Weber Maschinenbau, company founder Günther Weber, Dr. Stefan Rudolph, State Secretary for Economic Affairs for Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, and Bernd Jaehner, Sales at TRUMPF, officially put the system into operation.

With this new, fully automated system from TRUMPF, the company is able to manufacture stainless steel parts and components that are required for the production of cutting and packaging lines for the food industry in a highly efficient and networked manner. “First and foremost, the investment means a clear added value for our customers, as new production capacities are opened up and we are therefore faster. In addition, the expansion will create new jobs, ”explains Tobias Weber, CEO of Weber Maschinenbau. The lasering and bending of stainless steel parts in particular represented a bottleneck in the production process in the past. Further growth and higher capacities were therefore not possible. With the new laser bending automation, this bottleneck is solved and the following processing steps can be supplied with more parts. This leads to securing the location, growth and more jobs in further processes. The company has always relied on a high level of vertical integration. "For me, development and production belong closely together," says Weber, who is the second generation to run the family business.

The new sheet metal automation cost around EUR 3,4 million. The investment was subsidized with EUR 800.000 in funding from the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
