ASP: Animal welfare guaranteed even in restricted areas

On the initiative of the Federal Minister of Food and Agriculture, Julia Klöckner, it was achieved that there are now slaughter options: The Ministry (BMEL) has completed the necessary procedure with the European Commission. This not only serves animal welfare, but also relieves the animal keepers in the affected areas. The domestic pig stocks in Germany are still free from ASF. Pork is safe to eat.

Federal Ministry of Agriculture supports Brandenburg in fence construction
The BMEL is also supporting the affected federal state of Brandenburg in building the permanent fence on the border with Poland. The federal states are responsible for financing the construction of the fence. Federal Minister Julia Klöckner has obtained co-financing from the European Union. At the conference of agriculture ministers in September in Saarland, the states had also pledged to show solidarity with each other. Also with regard to the joint financing of fence construction.

Federal Ministry is committed to setting up a white zone - telephone call with Polish counterpart
