dr Barbara Schalch new DLG authorized inspector for delicatessen

(DLG). Privatdozent Dr. Barbara Schalch from the State Office for Health and Food Safety (LGL) in Oberschleißheim is the new scientific director for delicatessen at the German Agricultural Society (DLG). She is the successor to Prof. Dr. Barbara Becker, Ostwestfalen-Lippe University of Applied Sciences. The change of office took place on the occasion of the international DLG quality test for ready meals and delicatessen in Kassel.

Professionally, Dr. After studying veterinary medicine at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich, Schalch focused on food of animal origin. She is a specialist veterinarian for meat hygiene and was appointed private lecturer for "Food and Meat Hygiene" after her habilitation. Since 2014 she has headed the meat and meat products department at the State Office for Health and Food Safety in Oberschleißheim, and since 2016 also eggs and spreadable fats.
 
Since 1995, Dr. Schalch volunteers for the DLG. She began as a research assistant with the then authorized examiner Prof. Dr. dr hc mult. Andrew Stolle. This was followed by activities as a test group leader in the meat products, ready meals and delicatessen sectors. Overall, Dr. Schalch, who has had the DLG test pass since 2000, has used her expertise in 33 quality tests to date. Her many years of experience and proven expertise predestine her for the office of authorized auditor.
