Ronald Lotgerink new CEO of Vion

Vion has appointed Ronald Lotgerink (57) as its new CEO effective September 1st. Ronald Lotgerink is currently CEO of the Zwanenberg Food Group, a leading European manufacturer and exporter of meat products, canned meat, snacks, soups and sauces.

Ronald Lotgerink's career began at KPMG. In 1989 he joined the Zwanenberg Food Group as CFO. In 2007 he was appointed CEO. He has also been a member of Vion's supervisory board since 2014.

“Ronald Lotgerink knows Vion, agriculture and the food industry very well. He is very familiar with the challenges of the international meat markets and has extensive experience in the field of branded products, private labels and the meat processing industry. His membership in our Supervisory Board also gives him a head start in his new area of responsibility. He maintains close relationships with suppliers, customers and manufacturers and, in our opinion, is perfectly suited for this position, ”says Sipko Schat, Chairman of the Vion Supervisory Board.

Ronald Lotgerink: “For me, Vion is a systematically important company in the meat industry. As I come from a family of butchers, it makes me particularly proud to be able to seize the opportunity to become CEO with this background. Vion is pursuing the right strategy to create a sustainable future in this industry. I would like to continue and strengthen this strategy. "

Ronald Lotgerink is taking over the position from Francis Kint, who, as already announced, will leave Vion on June 1st. After his appointment as the new CEO, Ronald Lotgerink and CFO Joost Sliepenbeek will form the board of Vion. The appointment as CEO marks the end of his term of office on the Supervisory Board.
