Former President Ryuichi Ishida has passed away

Ishida mourns the loss of its honorary chairman and former president, Ryuichi Ishida. The entrepreneur died after a short illness on January 18, 2020 at the age of 84 in Kyoto/Japan. Ryuichi Ishida was the fourth generation at the helm of the global family business in the packaging industry. After joining the company in 1960, Ishida took over the presidency in 1967 and held the office until handing it over to his son Takahide Ishida in 2010. Ryuichi Ishida then acted in an advisory capacity as chairman and from 2014 as honorary chairman.

Ryuichi Ishida was considered a pioneer of the weighing and packaging industry. Under his leadership, the Ishida company developed the world's first multihead weigher based on the partial quantity combination principle in 1972. The entrepreneur operated an international expansion, so that today Ishida is represented in 105 countries around the world. The basis for the great success was the consistent focus on the corporate philosophy "Three-Way-Harmony", according to which every activity must be geared towards benefiting customers, society and the company.
