Hinrichs new managing director at QS

Dr. Alexander Hinrichs will take over the management of QS Qualität und Sicherheit GmbH from May 1, 2021. The 46-year-old succeeds Dr. Hermann-Josef Nienhoff, who, after more than 18 years as managing director, is handing over the management to Hinrichs. Hinrichs has been its managing director since the Tierwohl (ITW) initiative was founded in 2015 and has successfully established this in the market. He will also be one of two ITW managing directors in the future. QS is not new territory for the PhD in agricultural economics. He had already been working in various functions at QS for nine years, most recently as Head of Controlling. Together with Nienhoff, he initiated the founding of the ITW six years ago from QS.

"An exciting task with highly relevant questions is waiting for me. I am very much looking forward to the new task," says Dr. Alexander Hinrichs: "It is thanks to Hermann-Josef Nienhoff that I am allowed to take over a healthy and excellently positioned company."

Today, QS is active in the key sectors of the food industry. Hinrichs said: "The social and political pressure on trade and the food industry is increasing. For QS, it will be a matter of actively and reliably supporting our partners in the face of the diverse new challenges so that they can continue to offer safe and high-quality food."

"I consider the appointment of Alexander Hinrichs as managing director of QS Qualität und Sicherheit GmbH to be the right decision at the right time," comments Dr. Hermann-Josef Nienhoff. "I am convinced that Alexander Hinrichs QA will lead very well into the future."

Nienhoff hands over a broad-based international standard provider
After more than 18 years, Dr. Hermann-Josef Nienhoff passed the baton to his successor. After it was founded in October 2001, Nienhoff significantly built up and continuously developed the QS system. Securing quality processes across all levels, working out practicable solutions for the entire chain together, continuously developing and reacting dynamically to market requirements - that was Nienhoff's signature. After almost 20 years, the QS system, under his moderation, has developed into the leading cross-level standard provider across national and industry borders. Nienhoff:I have always valued the thematic range of QS very much and I am grateful that I was given the chance to shape, develop, develop and expand here in the interests of the economic stakeholders.
