Messe Frankfurt and the Association for Alternative Protein Sources BALPro are cooperating for IFFA 2022

Messe Frankfurt and the Association for Alternative Protein Sources, BALPro, are entering into a strategic cooperation for IFFA 2022. The focus will be on the professional and technological exchange with regard to the newly created exhibition area for alternative proteins. For its upcoming edition, IFFA ?? Leading international trade fair Technology for Meat and Alternative Proteins, in addition to its focus on meat processing, is increasing process technology for proteins from plant sources and in-vitro meat. With this expansion, Messe Frankfurt is following the rapid market development and the increasing interest of visitors and exhibitors in this product segment. In order to promote professional and technological exchange on the new topic, Messe Frankfurt and the Association for Alternative Protein Sources BALPro, founded in 2019, are entering into a strategic cooperation.

Kerstin Horaczek, Head of Technology at Messe Frankfurt explains: ?? We are very much looking forward to working with BALPro at IFFA 2022. The association and its members will make an important contribution with their know-how in production, innovation and marketing of alternative proteins contribute to the development and networking of the global food industry at IFFA. Our cooperation creates numerous points of contact that offer trade fair participants real added value ?? from professional advice to the implementation of interesting supporting program events. ??

The Association for Alternative Protein Sources eV (BALPro), based in Düsseldorf, is a nationwide network of start-ups, companies and food experts. BALPro pursues the goal of bringing the various players in the food industry together and promoting an active exchange among them to develop alternative sources of protein for human and animal nutrition. Here, business, politics, science and consumer representatives should be given the opportunity to work together on a sustainable agricultural and food turnaround, free from ideologization. The association offers a platform for a differentiated and transparent dialogue between interest groups and has been moderating this for two years for a steadily growing number of innovators, investors, interested parties and sponsors.

BALPRo currently has over 90 members ?? among them startups and organizations, research institutions, producers of insect-based food and in-vitro meat as well as representatives of the conventional meat industry who are constantly working on integrating alternative products into their range.
