Strong number of registrations for the IFFA

The popularity of the industry for IFFA 2022 remains high. The number of exhibiting companies and the space occupied are based on the values of the previous event in 2019. With a proven protection and hygiene concept, Messe Frankfurt offers all participants a safe framework for personal encounters. At the beginning of 2022, exhibitors and visitors once again emphasized the need to be able to meet at their international live event: on site and for personal exchange. The registration status for IFFA, Technology for Meat and Alternative Proteins, from May 14th to 19th in Frankfurt am Main, is very good. Messe Frankfurt expects over 900 exhibiting companies from all over the world. The expected exhibition area, which again extends over halls 8, 9, 11 and 12, is at the level of the previous event. The companies will show innovations for the entire process chain of protein processing. In addition to meat products, for the first time IFFA is placing a special focus on ingredients and manufacturing processes for vegetable proteins, thus offering a professional platform for this fast-growing segment.

Peter Feldmann, Lord Mayor of the City of Frankfurt and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Messe Frankfurt, underlines the importance of trade fairs: “The registration figures for IFFA are a strong signal for Frankfurt as a trade fair location! They show us: Frankfurt's trade fair was, is and will remain the best in the world - despite the cut caused by the corona pandemic. Without the trade fair, the Frankfurt we have known and loved for centuries would not exist. The trade fair has made internationality and diversity part of our DNA. And: Our trade fair is the place for the topics of the future. More and more people are opting for a meat-free or low-meat diet. It is good that IFFA is taking on this trend.”

Strong industry - positive expectations of the IFFA
Klaus Schröter, Managing Director of Schröter Technologie GmbH & Co. KG and Chairman of the Meat Processing Machines department in the VDMA, confirms: “There is a huge need for personal exchange in the industry. On behalf of the exhibitors, I would like to emphasize that we need the IFFA as a strong international platform this year and we look forward to presenting our innovations to the specialist audience. With the new topic of alternative proteins, the world's leading trade fair is also experiencing an important reorientation and a boost towards the future." For the IFFA year 2022, the food processing machinery industry expects even higher sales growth than in 2021. On the one hand, because the existing orders from 2021 in be converted into sales this year. On the other hand, the consistently good demand situation, the strong trend towards automation and digitization as well as product innovations give every reason for positive expectations of the world's leading trade fair.

Well prepared - be sure to participate
In the volatile pandemic period, good preparation for participation in the trade fair is more important than ever. "IFFA offers a secure environment for contacts, business and inspiration," says Wolfgang Marzin, CEO of Messe Frankfurt. "Our protection and hygiene concept, which has been coordinated with the authorities, has already been used successfully at many face-to-face events. And as everywhere, the same applies to us: Anyone who has been vaccinated and boosted has the greatest possible freedom of action.”

A modern exhibition center offers optimal opportunities for a secure personal B2B meeting. Access is fully controlled, which means that all participants are registered personally and their vaccination or recovery status or tests are checked. The exhibition halls are supplied with 100 percent fresh air by modern ventilation systems. Due to the large room volumes and high air exchange rates of up to five times an hour, aerosols are constantly diluted and transported away. Distances and hygiene measures are professionally planned and controlled.
