The world's largest meat company is getting involved in laboratory meat

JBS, the world's largest meat company based in South America, starts producing artificially produced meat. The meat giant employs 63.000 people worldwide and slaughters around 80.000 cattle and 50.000 pigs every day. The company has now bought the Spanish laboratory meat manufacturer "BioTech Foods", and commercial production is to start in Spain in three years. JBS announced that it will take over the majority of the start-up founded 4 years ago - Bio Tech Foods is already one of the leading companies in the biotechnological production of so-called "clean meat". JBS is the largest meat producer in the world and the largest meat processing company in South America with annual sales of over US $ 21 billion.
