Conscious meat enjoyment: Kaufland presents "treasures"

Neckarsulm, September 20, 2018. Quality meets responsibility - with immediate effect, Kaufland is offering its customers a wide variety of first-class meat products at the fresh produce counter under the name “Value”, thus serving the growing demand for responsibly produced food. The name says it all: In addition to quality, the focus is on better conditions for animals and farmers. "We are convinced that more animal welfare and long-term partnerships with our farmers simply lead to a better product," emphasizes Ralph Dausch, Head of Kaufland Fleischwerke. "The Values program is based on a hand-in-hand philosophy with partners who share the same convictions as we do: Quality over quantity."

High standards for conscious enjoyment
Responsible animal husbandry and certified origins are the cornerstones of Values. For example, pigs have 40 percent more space during their rearing than is anchored in the legal minimum standard and grow up more relaxed on family farms. Stables with an open front and straw as activity material are also a prerequisite for the value-added program - this goes far beyond the legal requirements. “Our standards for valuations are deliberately higher than for conventional meat products,” explains Dausch. “But we have not yet reached our goal: With our partners, we will continue to optimize housing conditions and promote sustainability. We want to gradually expand the new program. In this way we offer our customers the best options for shopping and conscious meat consumption. "

Competent advice for a wide variety
“Treasures” includes high-quality products made from beef, pork, poultry, veal and lamb. The range also includes various international specialties such as Ibérico pork and Black Angus US beef. The products are available exclusively at the Kaufland fresh food counters. The philosophy of the Value Program also includes competent and comprehensive advice at the meat counter. "Our experts at the meat counter give our customers competent advice, give tips on preparation and have in-depth knowledge of the origin and processing of the products we offer," says Dausch.

Valuations is thus presented as a comprehensive and sustainable program for animal welfare and premium quality.
