New information portal for the meat industry
The intensive discussions about the meat industry will now be accompanied by a new information portal for the industry. Under www.focus-fleisch.de A company-sponsored initiative offers knowledge and facts about animal husbandry, slaughtering and processing of beef and pork as well as the relevant social issues of nutrition, climate, occupational health and safety and animal welfare. "We would like to get more involved in the current discussions with arguments and make the conversations more objective," says Dr. Heike Harstick, General Manager of the Verband der Fleischwirtschaft e. V. (VDF).
The new homepage is intended to serve as an important information platform for the public. Facts about meat production are conveyed on pages with modern content and easy-to-understand texts. The website also provides insights into the entire value chain. Focus Meat is also intended to be a forum for scientists to discuss the latest research results in the fields of nutrition, climate or animal welfare with all social groups. Dr. Harstick: "In the past few months we have often had the impression that there were deficits in the communication of our work and industry as well as our products, which we would like to remedy with this communication platform."
www.fokus-fleisch.de wants to address consumers with its wide range and provide additional information to journalists, politicians and NGOs. In addition, questions on all subject areas relating to meat can be asked via the website, and the answers will be given promptly. It is important for the Focus Meat Initiative to make arguments for a fair and objective discussion in society.
