Transformation is the focus
Hamburg, May 10, 2023 – The Meat Industry Association (VDF) will discuss central topics of the food industry at its annual conference on May 11 and 12, 2023, which will be held in Hamburg together with the Federal Association of German Sausage and Ham Producers (BVWS). . For the VDF, the focus of the discussion is the transformation of livestock husbandry aimed for by the federal government.
On the first day of the industry meeting, the general assembly will discuss, among other things, the replacement of the top management of the association. The VDF also wants to appeal to the federal government to quickly adopt a forward-looking concept for livestock farming in Germany. However, far more funds than previously planned will have to be made available for the conversion.
On the second day of the annual meeting, scientists Dr. Malte Rubach, Dr. Thomas Ellrott, Prof. Dr. Harald von Witzke and Prof. Dr. Thomas Roeb will speak on current topics relating to meat myths, meat-free nutrition, organic farming and animal husbandry, as well as changes in the food retail sector.
