[DFV Information] Digital change

Frankfurt am Main, December 08th, 2017. Nobody now seriously doubts the need for a website for their own butcher's shop. With the changing information and consumer behavior of large parts of society and especially of the younger generation, regardless of whether in the city or in the country, the widespread use of smartphones and other mobile devices, the channels on which the artisan butchers inevitably have to change -Specialist shops reach their target groups.

In view of these changes, your own web presence has to fulfill very different tasks. It is the contact point for potential customers as well as interested young people who are looking for an apprenticeship position; it should provide information about current offers as well as about the company's history, the opportunities for trainees or the services offered such as delivery or party service. If there is no such company website, in the worst case scenario, the company cannot be found on the Internet and cannot be found by anyone who uses it.

In addition, the demands on websites have increased steadily in recent years. On the one hand, this affects the quality and clarity of the presentation, especially on mobile devices such as smartphones or tablets - almost half of all Internet use is now made on these devices - and on the other hand, the ability to find the pages using the common search engines. In addition, more stringent legal requirements are placed on company websites today, an incomplete imprint or missing general terms and conditions quickly have unpleasant consequences for the owner of the site.

In order to be able to offer its member companies a meaningful and practice-oriented solution in this regard, the German Butchers Association has been working with the Berlin-based digital service agency web4business for years. The company specializes in the design, creation and administration of company websites for certain industries and, together with the DFV, has developed an offer for artisanal butcher shops. This package, consisting of programming, service and consulting, has been newly put together and expanded over the past few months. In addition to a state-of-the-art responsive website, it consists of an online marketing campaign and a module for job offers.

"The DFV and its partner web4business are reacting to the growing demands in the online area, but above all to the shortage of trainees and skilled workers that many of our companies are struggling with," explains Gero Jentzsch, Head of Communication at the German Butchers' Association . Young people in particular, whether as new customers or future employees, first found out about a company online. “Businesses that cannot be found online or that have a rather old-fashioned appearance, unnecessarily give up opportunities here,” says Jentzsch.

The butcher and party service Hübenbecker in Hamburg was one of the first companies to take advantage of the offer. Owner Dirk Hübenbecker is satisfied: "In contrast to our old one, the new site also looks good on the iPhone." He takes care of the current content himself. If he gets stuck, a technical contact from web4business can help. "Anyone who can get along with Whatsapp or Facebook can also work with this software," emphasizes Hübenbecker, who has not only risen in the Google rating since the start of the online marketing campaign. “I wanted to bring my party service offering to the fore. Not in all of Germany but especially in my catchment area. That worked."
