Packing with chamber belt machines

With the new MULTIVAC Pouch Loader (MPL for short) for chamber belt machines, the group of companies has developed a semi-automatic solution that significantly improves the process of bagging the products and loading the packaging machine in terms of performance, economy, hygiene and ergonomics. Up to 40 percent reduction in personnel costs and significant increases in efficiency can be achieved compared to manual loading - with maximum flexibility in terms of products and pack formats.

When packaging with chamber belt machines, bagging the products and loading the machine have usually been a bottleneck in the process. With the MPL, which is tailored to customer needs, the processing and packaging specialist is now also giving new impetus to automation in pouch packaging.

The functional principle of the MPL is simple: an employee first positions the products on the machine's infeed belt. Two more people then bag the products by putting the bags over the loading belt so that the product can be automatically transported from the belt into the bag. A 90° rotation of the bag is then sufficient, which is then placed on the machine belt and then vacuumed and sealed.

Compared to the manual procedure, which usually requires at least five people, this semi-automated solution only requires three employees. Although this reduces personnel expenses and costs by up to 40 percent, the machine performance can be fully utilized.

Another advantage relates to hygiene and ergonomics: when the products are bagged, the employees no longer have to lift them and put them into the bags, which is laborious. "Less product contact - lower risk of contamination," says Korbinian Wiest, Product Manager Chamber Belt Machines at MULTIVAC.

Thanks to its compact design, the individually configurable MPL can be easily integrated into line solutions from MULTIVAC – optionally with the B 425, B 525 or B 625 chamber belt machines. "For the first time, we are offering our customers a complete solution for bag applications from a single source, while naturally remaining true to our PEAQ promise. Because the MPL also stands for a simple and cost-reduced packaging process with a maximum of efficiency, reliability, ease of use and economy,” emphasizes Korbinian Wiest. Many components can also be dismantled quickly and without tools.

The MPL can be combined with the MULTIVAC pouch rack (MPR for short), the compact bag rack, which can accommodate up to ten different stacks of different bag sizes. With special bag opening aids, individual bags can be easily separated from the stack and removed from the shelf.

Last but not least, the solution convinces with maximum flexibility in terms of product sizes and bag formats, since bag lengths in a range from 200 to 800 mm and bag widths from 150 to 600 mm can be processed.
