Processing & packaging at its best

MULTIVAC's succinct slogan summed it up: This year's Processing Days focused on innovative solutions for meat portioning and the latest packaging technology, which offer real added value in terms of efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Both individually and as a line solution. From October 16th to 20th, exclusively invited customers from Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands experienced a strong product world at MULTIVAC Resale & Service GmbH in Nettetal-Kaldenkirchen as part of individual live demonstrations and exciting lectures - highly individual and up close.

60 participants found their way to MULTIVAC in Nettetal. They were visibly enthusiastic about the wealth of information and, in particular, the “private” nature of the demonstrations during their visit, which lasted around two and a half hours. Your conclusion? An all-round successful event – gladly again!

This year, the focus was on solutions from the areas of portioning and packaging that fully meet the changing requirements of the market: the high-performance portioners GMS 400 and GMS 520 from TVI as well as a compact tray sealer of the latest generation, the TX 620 from MULTIVAC. The program was rounded off with a tour of the company. A grill master also looked after the physical well-being of the guests on an outdoor grill.

Portioning of fresh meat at the highest level
The TVI experts demonstrated the precise, weight-accurate portioning of pork neck for steaks, cubes and strips on the multifunctional GMS 400. The proven entry-level model impresses with new functionalities and design changes for the fastest product change times, simplest and intuitive operation and increased availability.

Thanks to 3D pressing, the GMS 400 portioned portions of the same weight and appearance from a manually fed piece of raw meat during the live demonstrations. These then reached the meat conveyor of the insertion line via a conveyor belt. While a destacker unstacked plastic trays onto a parallel belt, these were guided underneath the meat belt and the meat portions were automatically inserted into the stacked trays from above. A GMS 520 was also available on site for demonstration purposes for products with bones and butterfly cuts.

Tray packaging with outstanding performance
Following the portioner, the tray sealer TX 620 was used in Nettetal. The model impresses in terms of sustainability, flexibility, cost-effectiveness and, above all, performance. In order to feed the trays into the packaging process in a controlled manner immediately after loading, the TX 620 was supplemented with two curved conveyors from TVI.

From a technical point of view, the new tray sealer, which is already designed as standard for the use of MULTIVAC Smart Services and MULTIVAC Line Control and was presented to the public for the first time at interpack 2023, impresses with intelligent machine and line control, the highest hygiene standards and the usual reliability. Thanks to its compact design, it can be easily integrated into a wide variety of production environments - and can also be designed as a two-lane solution for even greater efficiency. To increase sustainability, depending on the application, the use of compressed air or cooling water can be completely eliminated, which actively contributes to the conservation of resources.

A complete success – that was the conclusion of the organizer and the guests. “MULTIVAC has always stood for customer proximity, excellent quality and outstanding service. With the Processing Days, we offer our customers a strong platform for informal exchange – and to be able to experience the latest developments up close in a relaxed and, above all, private atmosphere,” sums up Dietmar Bohlen, Food Key Account, Sales MULTIVAC Germany.
