New minimum wage in slaughterhouses and sausage factories

In the fourth collective bargaining agreement, the food-gourmet-restaurants union (NGG) and the meat industry employers agreed to conclude a new Germany-wide minimum wage for around 160.000 employees in slaughterhouses and sausage factories.

The members of the NGG tariff commission have already unanimously approved the outcome of the negotiations. The employers' collective bargaining committee must finally approve the result negotiated by a delegation by 1 June 2021 at 13.00 p.m. at the latest. Both parties have agreed not to publish the details of the new collective agreement until they have been officially accepted by employers.

Immediately after the contract is signed, the parties to the collective bargaining agreement will apply to the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs to make the new collective agreement generally binding.
