Global technological development and the increasing demands of the market require companies to continuously adapt and further develop their organizational structures. As a leader in weighing, cutting and labeling technology, Bizerba is responding to this dynamic and is announcing a strategic realignment of its organizational structure from April 1, 2024.

The past few years have shown that constant adaptation of the organization is necessary in order to meet the requirements of the market and the needs of customers. In this context, Bizerba has decided to introduce a consistent business unit structure from April 1, 2024 that focuses on customer and solution-oriented business models. The introduction of the business unit structure is part of a comprehensive transformation process that the company will continue to drive forward in the coming months.

Close integration from the market to the customer
“Our customers have always been at the center of our actions, and we want to ensure that our organizational structures reflect this even better in the future,” explains Andreas W. Kraut, CEO of Bizerba. And further: “By introducing a consistent business unit structure, we are strengthening our focus on the needs of our customers and at the same time can respond more efficiently to the challenges of the market. We are confident that this organizational change will allow us to understand our customers even better and offer tailored solutions.”

The business units operate as independent units within Bizerba, covering all aspects from market launch to customer service. Product management, a customer solution center, research & development as well as the entire sales and after sales area are integrated into this. In addition to these functions, there are global production areas and so-called “shared service centers” that function as central service areas. This structure ensures efficient company-wide coordination and control, promotes close exchange between business units and prevents isolated working methods. At the same time, synergies are used and efficient collaboration is enabled across all levels of the organization.

Business units for Retail, Industry and Labels & Consumables
The Retail business unit includes shop scales, cutting and packaging machines, AI-based checkout systems and retail software. The Industry business unit offers a wide range of product inspection systems, packaging and labeling systems, logistics systems, industrial scales and specialized industrial software. The Labels & Consumables business unit completes the trio with a portfolio of labels and tailor-made cleaning and care products for a wide range of applications.

The business units will be led by newly appointed Managing Directors: Ante Todoric will take over the management of the Retail business unit, Fred Köhler will head the Industry business unit and Tom van Elsacker will be responsible for the Labels & Consumables business unit. All three report directly to CEO Andreas W. Kraut.

Experienced managers for the new organizational structure
Ante Todoric has been with Bizerba since 2004 and has more than 20 years of sales and industry expertise. As a forward-thinking general management executive, he has successfully led various global business areas. In addition to his role at Bizerba, he is involved in other business boards and is a valued member of the board of Supersmart, an innovative company revolutionizing retail with AI-powered solutions.

Fred Köhler has been working at Bizerba since October 2023 and brings extensive experience from his previous position as CSO in the industry. In addition to his specific product and market knowledge, his strengths lie particularly in the areas of strategy implementation, organizational and process consulting, and change management.

Tom van Elsacker has been with Bizerba since 2015 and has since then made a significant contribution to the further development and expansion of the Labels & Consumables business. With his extensive experience in business development and sales, he complements the team as an extremely valuable member.
