Denmark is building a fence on the border with Germany

Denmark is building a fence on the border. Reason: Fear of African swine fever.

Every year, sows in the country give birth to around 32 million piglets. That means 5,5 pigs for every inhabitant. Almost half of them are fattened in gigantic farms with more than 8.000 animals. Most of the mast factories are in Jutland, the peninsula north of Schleswig-Holstein. In other words, where wild boars can simply walk across the green border and invade the kingdom at a width of 70 kilometers between the Danish town of Tønder and Flensburg. The Danish government, led by the Venstre Farmers' Party and supported by the right-wing populists of the Danish People's Party, now wants to fight this immigration with a metal fence.
