360-degree view of the stable

What does blue jeans do in the turkey house? What is the importance of the bedding for the welfare of the chickens? And where do hens actually lay their eggs? The joint venture between the Modern Agriculture Forum, the stable supplier Big Dutchman and the ZDG Central Association of the German Poultry Industry e. V. newly developed GeflügelMobil gives consumers exactly the answers and many other insights into poultry farming today. The GeflügelMobil will be presented to the public for the first time on the Adventure Farm at the International Green Week (IGW) that begins today. The special thing about it: In 360-degree videos, three poultry farmers invite you to take a stroll through their chicken, turkey and laying hen houses and give consumers an individual all-round view of the house.

The GeflügelMobil combines real objects from the poultry houses with digital insights into the keeping: The tour begins "offline" with three typical objects from poultry houses to touch, which are supposed to arouse curiosity - blue jeans, a bucket with litter and a nest for laying eggs. What on earth does a pair of jeans do in a poultry house? If consumers want to find out, they can scan these objects using 3D glasses and a tablet and go on a digital 360-degree tour of discovery through the poultry houses. From three different perspectives - farmer, industry and consumer - he receives compact knowledge about keeping chickens, turkeys and laying hens. And in doing so, the consumer also learns that turkeys are curious animals and, for example, everyday objects, such as blue jeans, as activity materials, provide variety in the stable.

"Every consumer should know what poultry farming looks like today!", Explains Stefan Teepker, chicken farmer from Lower Saxony, Deputy Chairman of the Federal Association of Farmers' Chicken Producers (BVH) and the face of the GeflügelMobil, the transparency behind the new GeflügelMobil. “Nowadays, however, not every consumer has the opportunity to take a look at the inside of a stall on site. That's why we bring the stable with the GeflügelMobil to the consumers. ”From spring 2019, the GeflügelMobil will go on tour through Germany as an element of consumer communication at the Modern Agriculture Forum - in town squares and weekly markets, at court or folk festivals and at trade fairs, for example . of the Green Week in Berlin.
