Neckarsulm – Kristina Gergert, trainee at Kaufland Fleischwaren, made it into the top three candidates in the “Production” category as the youngest participant in the “Fleisch-Star-Talent 2019”. She is 18 years old and has been training as a specialist in food technology at Kaufland Fleischwerk in Möckmühl near Heilbronn since 2016. The "Fleisch-Star-Talent" competition is aimed at young professionals in the meat and sausage sector from industry and trade who are in their final year of training. For her outstanding performance, Kristina received prize money of 500 euros at the German Meat Congress in Bonn last week.
"I'm really happy to have made it this far in the competition. I am very grateful that my employer gave me the opportunity and support to take part," says Kristina Gergert.

Background to the competition

Here the young talents demonstrated their skills to a jury. This consisted of a total of 16 experts from industry, trade and the Federal College for the Food Trade. The evaluation focused on creativity, communication, teamwork and leadership. The three best trainees in each category are nominated and invited to the German Meat Congress in Bonn.
