Change in leadership in manufacturing

From now on, Dr. Christian Lau, as Executive Vice President Manufacturing, takes over the production of the MULTIVAC Group. In this function, he will also become Managing Director of the subsidiaries MULTIVAC Lechaschau and MULTIVAC Bulgaria Production as well as Chairman of the Board of MULTIVAC Taicang (China). MULTIVAC is an important employer in Tyrol: the packaging specialist has had a production facility at the Lechaschau site for more than 45 years and currently employs around 340 people there.

dr Lau has been with MULTIAC since July 2010. Most recently, as Executive Vice President, he was responsible for the Thermoforming Packaging Machines division. He studied industrial engineering at the University of Karlsruhe (TH) and did his doctorate at the Technical University of Munich in the field of production engineering.

"MULTIVAC has always been characterized by a high level of in-house production in order to meet the requirements for the highest quality and innovation. That's why the production division, with around 1.000 employees, is very important,” explained Guido Spix, Managing Director at MULTIVAC. "Dr. Lau will continue to drive our supply chain strategy to the benefit of our customers in close collaboration with the product leading business units.”

Mr. Andreas Schaller, who previously managed the division, will leave the company as part of the change in management. "We would like to thank Mr. Schaller for his many years of successful work at MULTIVAC. He has successfully managed the business in Lechaschau since 2003 and the production area at MULTIVAC since 2005 and was largely responsible for the successful establishment and start of our new production company in Bulgaria in 2018.”

MULTIVAC Maschinenbau Ges. mbH & Co. KG was founded in Lechaschau in 1974 as an additional production site to serve the growing demand for packaging machines. Since then, the plant has been continuously expanded and has always taken on new areas of responsibility. Today, among other things, the production of machine components made of stainless steel, basic machines and machine frames as well as stamping tools and sealing gaskets takes place there. Around 340 people are currently employed at the Lechaschau site. In its own training center, which opened in 2014, specialists are trained in technical professions.
