Royal medal for Geert Janssen

General Director Annemie Burger from the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality awarded the board member of VION, Geert Janssen, with a royal medal on November 21, 2008. When he left VION on the occasion of his 65th birthday, Mr. Janssen was appointed an officer in the Order of Orange-Nassau.

Mr. Janssen entered the service of the livestock and meat center at a young age. After an international career of almost 50 years in the meat sector, he is retiring as a member of the VION board. Mr. Janssen has made an impressive contribution to the consolidation and leading world market position of the Dutch meat sector. This was the reason for the Dutch queen to appoint him an officer in the Order of Orange-Nassau.
