Topics and trends
In general, the importance of frozen products among consumers is growing. This is also confirmed by the German Frozen Institute (dti), which has been the exclusive partner of Anuga Frozen Food and Anuga Culinary Concepts since 2013 and will also be represented in Hall 4.2 this year. At its trade fair stand, the dti offers the central contact point for contacts with the frozen food industry in Germany and presents current shopper insights on frozen products. The strongest trends in the frozen food market are convenience and health. Healthy eating is popular among consumers and is implemented with innovations in the area of vegan, vegetarian and free from products. The trend towards meat substitute products would be unthinkable without frozen foods; the new meat alternatives are at home in the frozen section. Convenience continues to be very important for consumers. Ready meals and baked goods perfectly serve the desire to save time and make work easier. Frozen products are indispensable, especially in the out-of-home market, and are experiencing high growth rates. Pre-portioned and ready-made components ensure maximum safety, flexible preparation and portioning and relieve the burden on staff in professional kitchens. TK supports the catering industry with its core culinary competence, because many tailor-made concepts and products offer the right answers to high guest requirements.

According to dti, frozen products are problem solvers for everyday nutrition, whether in a single household, in the family or for professional users in the catering industry. Frozen foods deliver high quality and safety; they are characterized by freshness, taste, easy preparation and a long shelf life - without the addition of preservatives. Other current nutritional trends include organic, halal and international specialties. When it comes to finger food and snacks, products with a high protein content, especially ice cream, are increasingly playing an important role. The frozen food industry is therefore always a guarantee for product innovations. According to dti, this is also reflected in numerous products with a handcrafted look that are similar to gastronomic offerings.
