SÜFFA 2020 cannot take place
Messe Stuttgart postpones trade fair due to situation-related uncertainty among exhibitors / next SÜFFA from November 6th to 8th, 2021. The last few weeks have shown that trade fairs in Germany have been possible again since the beginning of September and can be carried out successfully with appropriate hygiene and safety concepts. These were actually good omen for SÜFFA. But now the popular trade fair for the meat industry has to join the list of trade fairs that will not take place this year due to the corona. In autumn, SÜFFA would have been the first large platform for the meat industry that could finally have taken place again since the Corona restrictions. However, due to the latest developments, Messe Stuttgart as the organizer is forced to postpone the 25th anniversary of this year's SÜFFA to November 6th to 8th, 2021. The decision was made in a close and amicable exchange with the partner and ideal sponsor, the state guild association for the butcher's trade in Baden-Württemberg.
The reason is a general situation-related uncertainty, which recently became noticeable in the cancellations of several market leaders who are considered to be important multipliers. "We took this development very seriously as a signal and responded accordingly with regard to open and transparent communication at all times," says Andreas Wiesinger, member of the management team at Messe Stuttgart. An exhibitor survey carried out as a result showed that SÜFFA enjoys enormous support and is of great importance to companies, but that there is no sufficient basis for a successful SÜFFA to be held this year. “We deeply regret this step, but of course we respect the vote. The meat industry will continue to rely on SÜFFA as a central platform in the future. Many exhibitors have already signaled their participation for SÜFFA 2021 ”, Andreas Wiesinger summarizes the results of the survey.
The SÜFFA brand will nevertheless be present in Stuttgart in autumn. “Regardless of the postponement of the trade fair, we will hold our SÜFFA quality sausage competitions on November 7, 2020. The tenders will be published soon, ”says Joachim“ Joggi ”Lederer, state guild master of the state guild association for the butcher's trade in Baden-Württemberg, who also very much regrets the postponement of the trade fair.
At the same time, the afz academy will take place on Saturday, November 07th, 2020 in the ICS International Congress Center Stuttgart, organized by the afz - general butcher newspaper. It offers professionals in the meat industry a professional exchange and practical workshops with speakers from the field.
The next SÜFFA will take place as scheduled from November 6th to 8th, 2021.
