Global organic community at BIOFACH

From February 13th to 16th, 2024, 2.550 international exhibitors from 94 countries will present their extensive product repertoire at BIOFACH, the world's leading trade fair for organic food, 150 of them at VIVANESS, the international trade fair for natural cosmetics. In Nuremberg, participants experience the organic community in action along the entire value chain. Hot topics are discussed in the exhibition halls as well as in the two congresses. The BIOFACH Congress focuses on the topic “Food for the Future: Women and Sustainable Food Systems”. Trends and innovations also find plenty of space in the supporting program and in the exhibition halls. This year at BIOFACH there will be two industry trends “Holistic.Climate.Regeneration” and “Personal And Planetary Health” as well as four product trends “Sweet Soulfood”, “Transparency”, “Mushroom Mania” and “Clear-Headed Joy”. VIVANESS features the industry trends “Lifestyle & Identity” and “Be Community” as well as the product trends “Fresh Around The Clock”, “Sensory Beauty” and “Empower your Beauty”.

New in 2024: Expanded BIOFACH supporting program
30% organic in public kitchens by 2030 – this is the aim of the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture. A high target for communal catering and gastronomy, here the organic share was 2022% in 2 (source: BÖLW industry report 20232). A nationwide initiative with funding programs, certificates and new regulations is intended to increase the organic proportion of out-of-home catering and reduce food waste. Experts explain what this means for restaurateurs at the new meeting point HoReCa – GV & Gastro. BIOFACH 2024 offers interested participants a comprehensive range of specialist information on the topic of “out-of-home catering”. As part of the HoReCa - GV & Gastronomy Forum, experts classify the new regulations, answer questions and point out challenges, while applied practices and proposed solutions are included in so-called pitches. The interactive area of ​​the meeting point also provides deeper insights, for example through best practice examples, and offers the opportunity to exchange ideas with like-minded people in a targeted manner and at eye level.

Also new is the SustainableFutureLab, an open and collaborative event series. Controversial, highly topical questions are raised and discussed in workshops and expert panels. All participants work together to develop solutions and actively participate in the nutritional transition towards more organic food.
