Vegetarian products can no longer be called meat or sausage

The day before yesterday the government in France made a new regulation regarding vegetarian/vegan products, from now on they can no longer be called meat/sausage/cordon bleu or similar. The meat processing industry in France already demanded this in 2020. The list is long: Schnitzel, ham, fillet, etc. can only be reserved for real meat products. Names like “vegetarian sausages” and “vegetable steak” only caused confusion. Producers from other EU countries are not affected by this law and can continue to name corresponding products this way in France.
