International quality competitions of the DFV at the IFFA

Frankfurt am Main, April 08, 2019. The German Butchers' Association is again organizing four major international quality competitions as part of the IFFA. These events have been an integral part of the DFV trade fair program for decades and attract participants from all over the world every IFFA year. However, the majority of the products submitted traditionally come from their own country, and around two-thirds of all participants are German butchers. According to the organizers, the great domestic interest in the DFV competitions is due, among other things, to the fact that the IFFA quality competitions are only held every three years by the Federal Association of the German Butchers’ Trade compared to other annual regional product tests.

In order to attract the large number of participants who would like to be awarded one of the coveted medals or cups for their products, the DFV organizes quality tests organized by product groups over the three days of the trade fair. On Monday, May 6, 2019, the International Sausage Quality Competition will take place. On this day, the international expert jury scrutinizes all kinds of scalded, boiled and raw sausages as well as other ready-to-eat meat products. The international quality competition for products in cans and jars and the grand prize for the best sausages will follow on Tuesday, May 7th. On the one hand, everything revolves around sausages and other products as well as ready meals in cans, jars, tubular bags or trays. The second competition on this day shows the whole variety of handcrafted sausages in all possible variants. The final quality test for this IFFA is the International Quality Competition for Ham on Thursday, May 9th. All quality tests take place on the competition site of the German Butchers' Association in the newly built Hall 12. Registration documents can be found at www.fleischercraft.de/iffa be downloaded.
