(DLG). The Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) now has thetwelveThe best companies in the German meat industry with the Bundsehrpreis. "This is the highest honor that a food company in this country can receive for its quality services," praised the Parliamentary State Secretary. Maria Flachsbarth and Dr. med. Diedrich Harms, Vice President of DLG (German Agricultural Society), at the award ceremony in the Berlin Meistersaal. The winners achieved the best overall results in comparable farm sizes and comparable milk quantities in the quality tests of the DLG Food Test Center.
German foods stand for quality, variety and enjoyment. "The national award winners not only cultivate this culinary heritage in exemplary fashion, they also develop it further," emphasized Dr. med. Flachsbarth. With reference to the BMEL Nutrition Report 2017, she underlined the great importance of taste in grocery shopping. Because for 97% of consumers this is crucial for the purchase. "Together, politics and the food industry must succeed in reducing the levels of added ingredients with health risk potential in selected product groups. The key to success is that even foods with less or no sugar, saturated fat and salt convince in terms of taste, "said the Parliamentary State Secretary, referring to the national reformulation strategy. She emphasized that the BMEL does not pursue a policy of prohibition and paternalism, but relies on a voluntary self-commitment of the companies. Dr. Flachsbarth appealed to the national award winners and the entire life economy, together with the policy to make a contribution to a healthier and high-quality nutrition.
The DLG Vice President underlined the great importance of the federal awards and their role model for the German food industry. According to him, the award strengthens the high quality profile of German food and further enhances the top position of the award-winning companies in international comparison. "Because the Bundesehrenpreise place the technical ability and the high quality awareness and striving into the center of the public interest."Erencouraged the federal honorary prizewinners to aggressively use their award today to build confidence. "Because the future can only be won with an understanding of quality, as you see it," Dr. Harms concluding.
The Federal Honor winners 2017:
The Federal Honorary Prize is awarded by the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture once a year to companies of German meatwereawarded to the industry. The award is based on the extensive test results that the winners have received in the DLG quality tests in comparable categoriesachieved the same drive sizes.
