Westfleisch stands for agriculture

Under the motto “Our agriculture is colorful”, the Westphalian-Lippian Agricultural Association as a professional representative and the cooperative companies AGRAVIS Raiffeisen AG and Westfleisch SCE are sending a clear signal for the free democratic basic order and against any form of extremism and populism.

“We stand for cosmopolitanism and strengthening Germany as a business location. Innovative, sustainable agriculture is an indispensable building block for this,” emphasize WLV President Hubertus Beringmeier, Susanne Schulze Bockeloh as chairwoman of the Münster Agricultural District Association and the CEOs of AGRAVIS and Westfleisch, Dr. Dirk Köckler and Dr. Wilhelm Uffelmann. It is therefore important to all three organizations to make this self-image publicly visible. This is now happening with the joint campaign “Our agriculture is colorful”, which will also be used at the big rally on Friday. The major event is directed against the AfD's New Year's reception in the Münster town hall.

Agriculture stands for diversity
Hubertus Beringmeier, President of the Westphalian-Lippe Agricultural Association (WLV eV), makes it clear: “Democratic structures are the foundation of our peaceful coexistence – in politics, with friends and family and in our association life. With the message “Agriculture is colorful” we are setting an example and positioning ourselves as a profession clearly against the right. Agriculture stands for diversity, mutual respect and tolerance in dealing with each other. We stand for peaceful coexistence and a commitment to the free, democratic basic order.”

Agriculture as a pillar of society
Susanne Schulze Bockeloh, chairwoman of the Münster District Agricultural Association: “Heads, farms and perspectives in agriculture are colorful. Our profession is characterized by diversity. We are a strong pillar of our society and have taken a stand against extremism and radicalism from an early stage and continue to clearly do so. We actively stand for democracy and social cohesion – there is no alternative to that!”

Cooperative association as a community of values
“In the spirit of our corporate culture, we take a clear stance on our constitutional state in Germany,” emphasizes Dr. Dirk Köckler for AGRAVIS. “That's why we support the many rallies and movements for which numerous people have been taking to the streets across the country for several weeks. We do this from the middle of society with young and old in East and West.” At the same time, the entire cooperative network sees itself as a strong community of values for sustainability.

Diversity, tolerance and respect
“Values such as diversity, tolerance and respect are firmly anchored in our corporate philosophy,” explains Dr. Wilhelm Uffelmann, CEO of Westfleisch. “Wherever possible, we clearly distance ourselves from all actions and behavior that contradict these principles and are committed to an open society and mutual understanding.

Demand for fact-oriented politics
The regional initiators of “Our Agriculture is Colorful” agree in their call for a fact-oriented policy that does justice to the systemic relevance of local agriculture for nutrition with high-quality food.
