Green light for SÜFFA

Opportunity instead of crisis: The popular trade fair is the first major platform for the meat industry after the Corona break. With the Corona Ordinance for Trade Fairs, which will come into force on July 15, the state government is now giving the formal "green light" for trade fairs in Baden-Württemberg: In compliance with the appropriate protective regulations, the Stuttgart SÜFFA (7. to 9. November) will therefore take place as planned - and as the first major platform for the meat industry after the Corona break in 2020, it will occupy a special position. The organizers and partners therefore see the event not only as an important step towards the much-cited "new normality", but above all as a unique opportunity for the participants.

SÜFFA as a "signpost in the trade fair landscape"
Under the signet developed by Messe Stuttgart “SAFE EXPO – safe for people. Good for the economy”, says Andreas Wiesinger, member of the management board at Messe Stuttgart. "In the Corona year 2020, the SÜFFA will perhaps be a little unusual, but it will still be the top address for information, networking and new trends. In close cooperation with the authorities, we have developed a viable implementation concept that enables a smooth trade fair experience and can be flexibly adapted to current developments if necessary. Of course, health protection has top priority.”

Online ticketing, masks and high-tech ventilation
That is why the trade fair ultimately decided on a general mask requirement in order to “meet a wide range of specifications and to simplify and standardize their implementation in practice,” explains Wiesinger. "In this way, we guarantee the greatest possible security for exhibitors and visitors." In addition to online ticketing, a sophisticated visitor guide and comprehensive hygiene measures, Messe Stuttgart also scores with state-of-the-art technology: For example, the environmentally friendly stratified ventilation system continuously supplies the halls with fresh air instead of just circulating the room air.

Healthy industry with a good investment mood
The SÜFFA is a must-attend event for the butcher trade and medium-sized industry in Germany and neighboring countries. "In the long term, trade fairs cannot be replaced by digital alternatives," says Joachim "Joggi" Lederer, head of the state guild for the butcher trade in Baden-Württemberg. There they welcomed the long-awaited cabinet decision “with great relief”. The industry has mastered the special situation of the past few months "very well overall" and in many places there is a "high willingness to invest". Now it is a matter of “bringing these two factors together in an ideal marketplace like SÜFFA – that is a huge opportunity! Our entire team will continue to work hard on planning the trade fair so that SÜFFA 2020 will be an attractive overall package for exhibitors and visitors despite Corona.”
