Wiesenhof: Complete boiled sausage assortment now VLOG certified

All fresh WIESENHOF natural products from chicken and turkey already bear the VLOG seal "Ohne Gentechnik" on the packaging. Now, Germany's number one bird brand goes one step further and offers its complete range of cooked sausages under the VLOG seal. In concrete terms, this means that not only is the poultry meat at 100 percent free of genetic engineering, but also all other ingredients such as the spices. "The seal, without genetic engineering" is a clear signal to the consumer and has prevailed on the market. For German consumers, the aspect of GMO freedom plays a key role in the purchasing decision. The VLOG seal provides a quick decision-making aid, "says Dr. Ingo Stryck, Managing Director Marketing at WIESENHOF. "Consumers want transparency, and we can guarantee that: With the VLOG certification on our boiled sausage products, we can create added value at the point of sale, in addition to our concept of 'German poultry from regional farms'." WIESENHOF is thus following a trend: the study of the natural conscience of the Federal Ministry for the Environment documents consumer demand for transparency. 93 percent of respondents are in favor of commercializing food from animals fed genetically modified food. *

Traceability at WIESENHOF
The quality and taste of the products are important, but many consumers are also interested in the origin of their food. Especially with sausage products, it is not always easy to find out where the raw materials come from. A corresponding indication of origin is not mandatory. WIESENHOF creates transparency here: The company guarantees 100 percent German poultry from regional farms. "Our WIESENHOF concept puts our competitive advantage of domestic goods in the foreground, in which we can map a complete traceability to the individual farmer. Only by working collaboratively with our contract farmers and the regional supply chain can we deliver quality brand quality on a daily basis. " Ingo Stryck. Of course, all products of the Brühwurst assortment are available in the well-known WIESENHOF quality. In accordance with the "one-stop shop" principle, all stages of the manufacturing process at WIESENHOF are located entirely in Germany and predominantly within the company itself.

Impulses for the poultry market
The WIESENHOF boiled sausage range currently includes 12 poultry sausage specialties. Among them is the poultry Mortadella, which is market leader in its segment with just under 15% market share **. The three poultry meat sausage products have been carrying the VLOG logo since this summer. From November, all products of this range will be labeled with the label "Ohne Gentechnik". "The segment of poultry cold cuts is very promising. In the period from January to July 2019, 2016 significantly increased our sales by more than 37 percent compared to January through July. *** "With the VLOG seal we want to create yet another buying impulse at the point of sale for this segment," explains Dr. Ingo Stryck.
