1. Vegetarian hot dog: Rügenwalder cooperates with BackWerk

In cooperation with Rügenwalder Mühle, BackWerk is expanding its hot dog range to include a vegetarian option. The "Rügenwalder Mühle Veggie Dog" is prepared with the Vegetarian Mühlen Sausage and will be available from February as part of a national campaign in all BackWerk stores in Germany. From February 2020, there will be a vegetarian hot dog in Germany for the first time at BackWerk. In addition to the established Classic, Bacon and BBQ Triple Cheese variants, the Rügenwalder Mühle Veggie Dog will be available in all BackWerk stores as part of a campaign from February 4 to April 13, 2020.

The Rügenwalder Mühle Veggie Dog comes in a rustic multi-grain baguette roll, is prepared with fresh avocado & tomatoes and the Vegetarian Mühlen sausages from the Rügenwalder Mühle and baked in the oven with mild Gouda cheese. “The hot dog has been one of our most popular snacks since it was launched in 2017. We believe that this innovative product will meet the increasing demand for meat-free alternatives. In this way we show that classic snacks and new consumer expectations complement each other deliciously.
