Merger of the associations of the vinegar and mustard, delicatessen and soup industries

Association of manufacturers of culinary foods founded

At their joint general meeting on May 15, 2009 in Salzburg, the members of the Association of the Vinegar and Mustard Industry, the Federal Association of the German Delicatessen Industry and the Association of the Soup Industry merged to form the "Association of Culinary Food Manufacturers". With around 125 mainly medium-sized companies in the food industry, which represent an industry turnover of over 2 billion euros and more than 10.000 jobs, the new association is one of the major stakeholders in the industry.

The main reasons for the merger decision of the associations, which have been part of an office community for over thirty years, were the concentration and consolidation of the market for culinary products, the increasingly similar focus areas in the association's work and the opportunity associated with the merger for stronger and more sustainable representation of interests vis-à-vis politics and the media.
