New trade fair "DailyFood Business 2005"

First holistic concept for cross-industry exchange

Bakers, confectioners, butchers, caterers and ice cream parlors are focusing on new sales areas with an innovative trade fair concept - "DailyFood Business" creates synergies through new target groups

There is movement in the market for trade fairs for the bakery and butcher trade. With the new trade fair "DailyFood-Business - trade fair for bakers, confectioners, butchers, caterers and ice cream cafés", Deutsche Messe AG, Hanover, is offering a trade fair concept for the first time from 2005 that takes up the significant market changes for the bakery and butcher trade and new ones offers solutions. The "DailyFood-Business 2005" takes place from April 17th to 19th at the exhibition center in Essen.

The organizer is Deutsche Messe AG, Hanover. The conceptual sponsor is BÄKO-ZENTRALE NORD eG, Duisburg. BÄKO board member Lutz Henning sees an important departure in this new trade fair: "Our customers need cross-industry information opportunities, and the previously fragmented trade fair landscape cannot offer that in this form." For Stephan Ph. Kühne, member of the board of directors of Deutsche Messe AG, the new concept of the DailyFood-Business offers "the opportunity to address new visitor target groups and to offer real added value for visitors and synergies for exhibitors through the holistic concept".

Changed framework conditions

Two major developments gave the impetus to launch a new trade fair concept for the two groups of crafts: On the one hand, there are the changing market conditions in the bakery and butcher trades. These craft areas are still subject to a strong concentration process. The number of businesses is falling continuously, but the number of branches is stagnating or increasing slightly. Bakeries and butchers are looking for new opportunities to expand their range of products. The focus here is on snacks/snacks, cafés, convenience, retail goods and supplementary ranges. The company's own competitive position in relation to supermarkets, so-called discount bakeries and petrol stations is strengthened with a quality offensive. And finally, bakeries are about to introduce the latest bakery and deep-freeze technology.

The market in the butcher's trade is characterized by new quality requirements on the part of politicians and consumers. Due to changing consumer habits, topics such as snack bars, party service, catering and convenience are of great importance. Both sectors are characterized by a number of things in common, which include, for example, similar requirement structures for business equipment.

On the other hand, there are new requirements in terms of cost-effectiveness for trade fair participation and trade fair visits in view of generally tight budgets. The cross-industry character of the "DailyFood-Business" offers promising approaches. At this trade fair, the exhibitors meet significantly expanded visitor core target groups, who in turn absorb numerous suggestions and impulses from the breadth of the products and services presented.

As the leading trade fair company for international trade fairs and large consumer exhibitions, Deutsche Messe AG has extensive know-how, not least thanks to the many years of organizing the NORDBACK trade fair, in order to open up new market opportunities here with innovative commitment for exhibitors and visitors.

The concept of "DailyFood Business"

The range includes products and services for bakeries, butcher shops, out-of-home consumption and catering/party service. The planned framework program includes lectures and panel discussions, practical demonstrations, trainee competitions, the young people's meeting, the evening program "Meet and Eat" and the special presentation "BIOFIT" for commodities, raw materials, grain and meat from organic production as well as "SNACK'IT". with innovative snack and snack ideas as well as current trends in the field of party service and catering.

The following are shown in the exhibition area:

    • Raw Materials
    • semi-finished products
